Bamboo Capital Partners

Bamboo Capital Partners

Providing last-mile financial resources to marginalized communities that serve low to middle-income populations. Currently have $400 Million in AUM. They finance small-stage or growing organizations via debt or equity. Similar to a venture capital fund, but for non-traditional markets and investments that have a positive impact on society. The organization negatively screens out companies, and it must align with their impact requirement of being located in an emerging or frontier market and serving underprivileged communities. The company should also be ESG aligned, and Bamboo Capital sits on the board of directors.  They are an impact-first fund. They first assess the impact of the company. Once the impact analysis meets the requirement, they look into the financial return. Renewable energy, Microfinance, gender equity, financial inclusion, tech, and agriculture. They target emerging and frontier markets like Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. To invest, you have to be an accredited investor, an institutional investor, family office, a government, or a non-profit.I would invest with them. I like their investment and impact strategy. I believe their risk assessment is fair, and their impact assessment aligns with my goals by helping marginalized communities increase their economic activity and local job opportunities. I also like that they only include mature/professional investors like accredited and institutional investors. But, I would not invest in the ABC fund as I do not believe in agricultural funding. The fund CARE-SheTrades specifically stands out to me as a minority woman. It is a goal of mine to have a fund that has a similar impact one day.
